Mixer has no function but main fuse is ok | you can obtain a new, shielded power transformer from us by letting us know the production date of the old one. (before 1997) |
Fader shaft dissapears/slides downwards | this means the fader lever has been pushed down with heavy force and has opened up. This means the fader is not defect and can be closed again by pushing it back from downside. After that, twist the small metall pieces to lock the fader. (before mid of 1996) |
Hum at Phono inputs without special reason | metalwork company has used too many powder. Backpanel and frontpanel don't have good contact. Add a ground wire from earth terminal at backpanel to headphone sockets ground on power supply pcb (before 1997) |
Signal drop outs at PM2000 |
the Master pot is turning and cables are loose. Resolder them and tighten the Master pot. (before 1997). Loose soldering points at cinch connectors ---> resolder them |
Mechanical instability / Rental companies | tighten screws of power suppy pcb from time to time. Replace screws that hold backpanel and frontpanel by screw + nut |
Tip: crackling faders or dropouts of any brands and console manufacturers faders | do not use contact spray such as WD40. It ruins your fader track within short time for ever! Instead use a simple paint brush and clean the fader tracks inside frequently. Blow out the dirt with compressed air or mouth (do not spit in fader). Do not touch/bend the contacts under the lever. We would like to mention that the lifetime of your faders will rise significantly if you mount the mixer in a small angle or even in an upright position. |
